Measures Drawer

The drawer is the home of every measure: details, status, files, links, history and Glidepath.

Clicking on any measure opens the Measures Drawer - your central place to manage all details around a single measure. Everything relevant to that measure lives here: communication, files, links, and status - structured and accessible in one place.

Details - all the essentials in one place

The Details tab is the central place for all content-related information on a measure. Add detailed descriptions that go beyond the title - context, background, steps, or requirements the team needs to execute. Comments are added in the Activities field, so all communication around a measure stays in one place - structured, traceable, and visible to everyone involved.

Status

Every measure has a status that reflects its current state. The default statuses are: Not Started, In Progress, Off Track, Need Support, Escalated, and Completed (see Measure statuses for what each means and when to use it). In addition to these defaults, your project can be configured with custom statuses - new statuses can be defined and added to match your team's specific workflow. Status changes made in the drawer are synced instantly across the board and the work package view.

Attachments & media

Upload files, images, or documents directly to a measure. Attachments are stored inside the drawer and linked to the measure - always available to everyone with access. Whether it's a photo from the shop floor, a data export, or a supporting document, keep all relevant material connected to the work it belongs to.

Links - including SharePoint

Add external links to a measure to connect it with resources outside elyvate. This includes SharePoint documents, shared drives, or any other URL. Linked resources appear clearly inside the drawer, so your team can access everything in context - without switching between tools.

Share a measure

Use the share link function to copy a direct link to a specific measure. Send it via email or chat to bring colleagues straight to the relevant item - no searching required.

Requested by

The Requested by field captures who initiated or requested the measure. This adds accountability and context, especially in cross-functional teams where measures are raised across different departments or by external stakeholders.

Due date history

The drawer keeps a full history of due date changes: who changed the date, when, and from what to what. If your project uses the escalation flow, date changes also count toward the measure's escalation limit - and Work Package Leads, Project Leads and Consultants can remove a date change directly from the history using the X icon next to it. Removing a change lowers the measure's counter; if an escalated measure drops back below the limit, it de-escalates automatically (see Escalation flow).

Glidepath

When a measure is linked to a Glidepath KPI, the drawer shows a dedicated Glidepath section. This section displays the progress of the linked KPI directly in context - so you can see at a glance whether the measure is having the intended effect on the target curve. The Glidepath section only appears for measures that have an active Glidepath link; it is not visible on standard measures.

Archive & restore

Measures can be archived directly from the drawer when they are no longer active but should be kept for reference. Archived measures are removed from the active view without being permanently deleted - you'll find them in the work package's measures table, where an Archived tab appears whenever the work package has archived measures. If a measure becomes relevant again, restore it with one click from the three-dot menu in the table or from the drawer - your full history remains intact.

Best practices for the Measures Drawer

  • Use comments in the Activities field instead of external chats - keep all measure-related communication in one place so nothing gets lost

  • Attach supporting files directly - avoid sending documents separately when they belong to a specific measure

  • Link SharePoint documents for living files that update over time

  • Archive completed or paused measures to keep your active view clean

  • Use Requested by to track accountability, especially for measures raised externally
