Some work never finishes, it just comes back. Weekly check-ins, monthly reviews, standing deliverables: set a measure to repeat and elyvate keeps the series going, so routine work returns on schedule without anyone recreating it by hand.
Setting the rhythm
Create a recurring measure straight from the create measure modal, or make an existing measure recurring at any time: open it and choose Add recurrence from its menu. Either way the recurrence shows as Continuous: the same measure moving from one date to the next, not a stack of copies. Set the rhythm: daily, weekly, or monthly, down to patterns like every third Wednesday.
Decide when it ends
A recurrence runs until you say otherwise. Add an end date or a set number of occurrences and the series stops there. Leave both off and it keeps going.
This occurrence, or the entire series?
When you update a recurring measure, you choose whether the change applies to that occurrence only or to the whole series. To change the schedule itself, open Edit recurrence from the measure's menu.
How occurrences behave
Each occurrence is a normal measure: it gets its own reminders (starts tomorrow, due tomorrow, due today) and goes overdue like any other if it isn't finished
A new occurrence appears on schedule without pinging anyone. You'll hear about it through its start and due reminders
Assignees carry over from the series, and the status resets to In Progress
The automatic move of a due date to the next occurrence never counts toward the escalation limit. Only edits made by a person count, and each occurrence starts with a full allowance
A worked example
A quality check recurs every Thursday. Each week the measure comes back with the same assignees, resets to In Progress, and reminds the team the day before it starts, the day before it's due, and on the day itself. Complete it and next Thursday's occurrence is already on its way. Miss it and it goes overdue like any other measure until it's done.
Good to know
You can spot a recurring measure at a glance: it carries a recurring icon on its card on the board and next to its title in the drawer.
You can stop a series any time with Delete recurrence in the measure's menu (it asks you to confirm). The current measure stays as a normal, one-off measure and nothing already on the board disappears.
When a series reaches its end date or final occurrence, the people responsible are notified that no more occurrences are coming.
An escalated recurring measure doesn't move on: the series waits until the escalation is resolved. Completing the measure resolves it and the series continues.
