Staying on top of a project shouldn't mean chasing it. The Inbox is your personal feed inside elyvate: every update on the measures and Work Packages that involve you, in one place, as it happens.
You'll find it at the top of the sidebar, just above My Measures. The number next to it counts your unread notifications, so you know at a glance whether anything's waiting.
What lands in your Inbox
This first version covers the two things you work with every day: measures and Work Packages.
On measures:
A measure is assigned to you
Someone comments on a measure you're involved in
A measure's status changes: completed, needing support, escalated, or a routine move on a measure you share
A due date moves, with the warnings on the way to the escalation limit
A file is added, or the measure is archived, unarchived, moved to another Work Package, or deleted
The daily reminders: a measure starts tomorrow, is due tomorrow, is due today, or has gone overdue
A measure you're on is made recurring, its schedule changes, or its series ends
On Work Packages:
A Work Package you lead or belong to changes status
A Work Package is created, renamed, archived, or deleted
The Work Package Lead changes
If it involves you, it's there, ready whenever you are.
Tailored to your role
What you receive depends on your role:
Contributors hear about the measures they're responsible for: assignments, comments, status changes, due dates
Work Package Leads get their Work Package's life: status flips, renames, lead changes, plus the meaningful moments on its measures
Project Leads see the bigger picture: Work Package status changes, escalations, and Work Package Lead changes across the project
The measures you're responsible for add their updates on top, whatever your role.
See it, act on it
Open a notification and you land where it happened. For measures, the measure opens right there, ready to edit on the spot. Read and unread states track where you left off, and if you open something too soon, hover over the notification and mark it as unread to come back to it later.
Why didn't I get notified?
Five rules keep the Inbox useful instead of noisy:
You never get notified about your own actions
Work Package Leads aren't pinged on routine measure status changes, only meaningful ones: a measure completed, needing support, or escalated
Date reminders (starts tomorrow, due tomorrow, due today, overdue) arrive bundled in a morning summary at 6am your time, not one by one
Quick changes settle first: several edits to the same thing by the same person within 90 seconds arrive as one notification with the final state, and an action undone within that window sends nothing at all
Upper Management receives no notifications at all, by design: the final report reaches them as a PowerPoint export outside elyvate
Good to know
This is a beta and the first version. Expect the Inbox to grow.
Report submissions and SteerCo invitations arrive by email rather than the Inbox.
